Amateur Artist Workmanship Classes

Calling all non-professional model horse artists!

We will be having a small number of classes based on workmanship for customs and artist resins. Special rosettes! Yes, you may enter these models in the Open Show as well. Unlimited number of horses per class! Please note: these classes are not NAN qualifiers; NAN cards will not be given out.

Amateur Artist Owner to Show (cm or ar)

1. Solid: Bay, Chestnut, Black, Brown, non-dappled greys

2. Solid Dilute (buckskin, dun, palomino, perlino, cremello, champagnes, smokies, grulla, etc.)

3. Grey, dappled

4. Pinto

5. Appaloosa

6. Other (roan, rabicano, bridle, etc.)

7. Minor Custom (mane, tail, ears, head turn)

8. Extensive Custom: (neck, legs, body, and/or extensive facial work)

Horses may enter one color class and one customization class. Example: a repainted dappled bay Huckleberry Bey, with pinned ears and a new mane and tail would go in Class #1 and #7. A dappled grey Lady Phase with a new head and cocked hind leg would go in Class #3 and Class #8. Please ask if you have questions! zornart@gmail.com

Rules:

  • This is for non-professional* artists only, of any age.

  • You must have created both the paintwork and, if customized, customization yourself.

  • No collaboration pieces.

  • Any scale, any make model horse is allowed, created in any media.

  • Fantasy and decorator included.

Non-professional means that you do not or have not done more than one commission; or sold your work; or have worked as an artist for any model horse company. If you did commissions or sold your work prior to 2000, and have not since, you many enter. This is based on the honor system. We really want to encourage  new and returning artists!
